Water polo is a competitive team sport played between two teams.
Each team is made up of six players and one goalkeeper. All players, except for the goalkeeper, participate in both offensive and defensive roles.
Water polo requires ultimate swimming and shooting skills, outstanding stamina as well as highly developed orientation abilities since the players’ heads (unlike other teams ports) are just above the playing surface. Positioning, teamwork and tactical discipline as well as smart and surprising moves are all essential parts of the game.
